Building the Channel Tunnel: 25 Years On na bombuj. Tunel pod Lamanšským průlivem spojující Británii s Francií je jedním ze sedmi divů moderního světa. Ale jak dlouho trvalo nejdelší podmořský tunel vybudovat? To se dozvíme od mužů a žen, kteří tento technický zázrak stavěli. Masivní stroje na vrtání tunelů ukusovaly skálu, nehloubily však jeden tunel, ale hned tři; dva železniční tunely a jeden služební. Jednalo se o projekt financovaný pouze ze soukromých zdrojů; na tunel neměla být utracena ani penny z veřejných peněz. Firma měla vše financovat a nést všechna rizika. Byl to projekt, který byl postižen záplavami, požárem, tragickými ztrátami na životech i finančními úpadky. Dnes je to inženýrský triumf a svědectví o tom, čeho lze dosáhnout, když dva národy odloží své historické rozdíly a spolupracují.
