Geboortegrond na bombuj. A farmer's son, Jan (Pierre de Wet), works on the farm for his strict father (Jan Brill). He realizes that he is not valued, and his father does not want to know anything about modern farming methods. They get into an argument and he decides to look for work in Johannesburg.
