Mestizo na bombuj. A village on the Venezuelan coast, a place of fishermen and big haciendas, Aquiles Vargas, a white aristocrat in somewhat reduced circumstances, fights with Cruz Guaregua, a humble black fisherwoman, and mother of his only son, a half-caste 'mestizo'.
