Rendezvous in Wien na bombuj. Composer Alexander Marhold is to be officially honored on his 50th birthday. His two adult sons, Bobby and Alexander, from two previous marriages, are also arriving: one from Russia, the other from America. As these contrasting young men intensively court Marhold's attractive wife, Beate, the mature charmer sees his wife in a whole new light.
