She is lonely, disappointed in men, but has a close friend, a car racer, to whom she flies to different cities for dates. Once, after the refusal of the head of the taxi park to give her another vacation at her own expense, Lena decides to deceive him and asks a sailor she met on the street to introduce himself as her fiancé. This little trick turns out to be a big real feeling for Lena and her accidental chosen one - navigator Kovalev...
